This small painting is of Canary Creek at Roosevelt Inlet in Lewes, Delaware. The creek winds its way back into the marshes next to the University of Delaware, Lewes Campus and runs along the south side of some really beautiful marsh land. In the 1970’s my grandparents would take us kids in their small rowboat up the creek and we’d crab with hand lines. It was a time to be outside together, enjoy nature and catch some crabs. Grandma would cut us a little slack if we missed netting a crab but if it was Pops we’d never hear the end of it.
